Construction has begun on an exciting new destination playspace at Minogue Park in Hamilton. The project being developed for Hamilton City Council and working in collaboration with Tina Dyer of Park Central.
The new design combines elements of the existing playground, whilst extending the scale of space and adding new play elements, equipment and challenges. Encompassing the space is a bike agility track, forming a loop with various berm, roller and textured surfaces around its extent. Low turf mounds provide for informal play, but also offer opportunities to incorporate several of the off the shelf play equipment pieces. Also included are a number of custom made timber features, including a water play station, log scramble area, stepping poles and stilts. Planting is distributed throughout and the playground works in with the existing contour, to ensure as seamless as possible integration with its lake edge surrounds.
