It was a very well organised event with a great range of speakers, across a broad range of disciplines, from both New Zealand and internationally.
Some highlights included:
A stimulating opening address by film director Vincent Ward where he related to the conference theme through a selection of scenes from his films and talked of his recent work in Abu Dhabi.

Klaus Bondham, Deputy Mayor of Copenhagen, providing insight into the elements and developments that have made his city one of the most liveable cities in the world.
Friday’s session 2 titled when is enough, enough? This brought together a diverse range of local speakers whom raised issues around the trends, limitations and opportunities on currently relevant issues of coastal development, urban intensification, ecosystems within Maori cultural landscape and biodiversity.
Professor Richard Weller and his presentation of the work that he has been completing on the options for urban growth in the city of Perth. His ideas placed an impetus on landscape architects to take a lead role in planning the sprawl of our cities.
