The 28th of September saw the completion and opening of the new ‘Outdoor Gallery’ at The District at Auckland Airport.
The project was officially opened by Len Brown, Mayor of Auckland, at what was a well attended and exciting event for all involved. After the official speeches and plaque unveiling, guests were invited to wander round the trails and hear from each of the individual artists about their specific sculptures.
The Outdoor Gallery is an essential component of the overall landscape master plan at Auckland Airport, connecting several key elements. It is an integrated pedestrian trail that allows visitors, tourists and workers alike access to amenity and the opportunity to enjoy the environment created. Intrinsic to this network is a sculpture walk which celebrates and supports the trail network with 10 unique and engaging public artworks. Read more about the Outdoor Gallery here.
