Studio Update

2/6/2012

It’s been a busy last year and hence a long time since we posted any updates... we’ve been enjoying working on a wide range of projects across a variety of scales and typologies and seeing some great projects come to fruition in both schematic and built form.

Abbeville Estate at Auckland Airport was one such project, an exciting and very special project that preserves a unique part of Auckland’s history.  See more on the project here.
We’re also working on a number of other exciting projects at Auckland Airport – watch this space for further updates...
The end of 2011 marked the opening of the Royal Opera House in Muscat.  It’s fantastic to see the project finally come to life after many years of planning by a lot of skilled individuals.  To top it off the project was the joint winner in the Leisure & Tourism section of the 2012 MEED Quality Awards.  See here for more information.
The New Year saw us exploring the master planning and concept potentials for stage 2 of the Otahuhu Recreation Precinct.  Working in collaboration with Creative Spaces, the project entails the integration of a new library and swimming pool on the site, along with the existing recreation centre.  The surrounding landscape and urban fabric knits the development together creating a range of new civic, recreational, park and community spaces.  Check back for more on this project in the coming months.
The completion of the Mangere Bridge Causeway represents a milestone, with one our first significant NZ based urban design commissions now complete. It’s a dramatic and long overdue upgrade for the Mangere Bridge area and we’re really pleased with the final product. See more on the project here.
Construction work continues to progress at a rapid pace in Jinzhou for the upcoming 2013 World Landscape Art Exhibition – we expect to see further updates soon on the construction of our garden for the Expo and will share these in due course.
