Rotorua Child Health and Library Hub
As part of Rotorua’s inner City Revitalisation Strategy and a shared vision between Rotorua Lakes Council and District Health Board, the Child Health and Library project is set to provide an integrated, resilient, vibrant and meaningful hub of activity for the local community and visitors. The project responds to the needs of children, whanau and communities by providing services that focus on the integration of health, library and children’s services. It will include refurbishment of the existing library, the development of a shared space street environment and linear park, a new playground and a range of open space areas. Developed in close consultation with Creative Spaces, key stakeholders and user groups, the design builds on anticipated synergies between internal, external and wider community activities with a focus on creating an environment that facilitates social interaction and exchange. Key landscape components include the provision of a range of flexible open spaces, strong connections between key destinations and existing visitor information facility, and the integration of transport infrastructure. |
