MANGERE BRIDGE CAUSEWAY

The regeneration of the Mangere Bridge Causeway provides a vision for the future development of the site, and the mending of the connection to the old Mangere Bridge. Bespoke were engaged to complete concept, developed and detailed design for the project. Design work was completed to address public needs for the space and inform the designated works being carried out by the MHX Harbour Crossing Alliance. Coordination was carried out with consulting engineers for the tidal relationships of the site and the project archaeologist for the protection of the historic rock walls. Bespoke produced construction details for all elements of the project including paths, walls, custom street lighting, fishing platforms, rails and custom street furniture. The finished product considers the wider context of the site, the historic references, the opportunities and constraints of the site, the public vision and the future uses of the site.
