WHEELED SPORTS NETWORK ASSESSMENT

The benefits of play and active participation in recreational wheeled sports is well documented. In recognition of this, Bespoke were engaged by Auckland Council to prepare a wheeled sports network assessment for the Devonport Takapuna Local Board area. This included building on existing experience in developing assessment parameters and methodologies to assess asset provision at a network and individual scale. The aim being to establish a holistic understanding of relationships between type, distribution, associated catchment level of service and population dynamics. Information was then mapped and analysed and presented in a manner that enabled authorities to clearly understand their network and make informed decisions on network development. This also included the identification of key sites for further targeted investigation of opportunities, assessment of consenting triggers and identifying level of investment required to achieve desired network outcomes.
