TOTARA HEIGHTS NGAHAU

Following consultation with residents and Auckland Council, Bespoke were engaged by Fletcher Living to design a neighborhood park playground that provides open space and amenity with play value for the growing community in Totara Heights, Manukau. The playspace design embraces the contextual identity of the Totara Heights area and provides a range of experiences and elements suitable for a neighbourhood park and expected users. This includes accommodating both formal and informal play opportunities, as well as elements for multiple age groups. Inspiration from the adjacent remnant bush and gully landscape lead to the playground’s naturalistic character and play experience. The centralised log scramble is a key feature that pulls the gully environment up into the playspace to create engaging and adventurous play, and the hardwood equipment is custom stained with earthy tones, adding visual interest and animation to the playspace features.
